I've made it a point to be around words my entire life—either by burying my nose in books, writing poems and short stories, editing fiction and non-fiction, or working as a copywriter.
I was an English major in college with an emphasis in creative writing. I volunteered for every writing and editing job I heard about. I also tried to keep my toes in the technology world. Before I was done with college I had worked as a proofreader, editor, and technical writer for two startup technology firms. Then I made the jump into marketing copywriting, where I've really thrived. Although I'm finishing up a master's degree in technical writing, I enjoy the marketing side more than anything else.
I realized long ago that the learning and growing are never going to stop. That's a good thing. I'm always working hard to hone my writing skills sharper and to absorb more knowledge about the marketing and business worlds. There's always more to learn. Each client I work with teaches me many important things; each relationship I build helps to expand my own world some more.
I live in Idaho Falls, Idaho, with my wife, Katie, and my kids, Emily, Erik, and James. They are the center of my life, and from them I draw my greatest inspiration.
